Last day as a professional geek
It was pretty anticlimactic. Spent most of the day furiously writing documentation on stuff. I will miss my team, but it's good to move on to bigger, better, and hopefully much less stressful things.
Celebrate banality!

8 days from now, I will no longer be a professional computer geek. That's right, I'm leaving the IT world to go work in a business area. I've been a code slinger for just over 10 years now (well, 11 actually - 10 at the current company). Looking forward to resuming some semblance of a normal life instead of 3 am phone calls, weekends, nights, insane working hours (42 hours straight is the current and hopefully all-time record). Of course it wasn't always like that - but often enough to make me want to change. I will miss the great friends I've made in the IT organization, though.
Wow, it's been a while. Got to post on a more frequent basis so as not to disappoint my throngs of adoring fans.

Great site I happened upon. People submit and comment upon stupidly written code. It's quite hilarious, sometimes.
